Jurassic Park is a game based on the film and novel of the same name for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993.
The object of the game is to survive in the park where the dinosaurs have escaped. The player takes the role of main character Dr. Alan Grant.
Much like the movie and novel which it is based on, he is trapped on an island that is a dinosaur amusement park. The power has been knocked out and the dinosaurs are roaming free. The player's goal is to protect Lex and Tim, the grandchildren of the park's owner, John Hammond. Grant must complete a series of missions that will eventually lead to him escaping the island without being eaten. And the Verdict is...
What we have here is another lame, ten-a-penny action title on the NES that cashed in at the time on uninformed gamer's by exploiting its profitable movie license. The graphics are decent, and the music's forgivable, but the entire experience is so frustrating that there's no reason to even bother. Most of the time you find yourself aimlessly wondering around, clueless, and then finally you get a whiff of adirection to take in the game, it forces you to fight through another raptor-infested building, just to collect 9 more silly useless eggs!. At the end of the day, Jurassic Park is nothing but a predictably rubbish movie-cash-in!. Move along! |
