Baseball made by Nintendo was one of the NES's 18 launch titles when it was released in 1985 in the US. As in real baseball, the object of the game is to score the most runs. The game is for either one or two players, and each player can select from one of six teams.
Although the game has no official licensing, the letters of the teams were renamed to more closely resemble several of the Major League Baseball teams:
A: Oakland Athletics C: St. Louis Cardinals D: Los Angeles Dodgers P: Philadelphia Phillies R: Kansas City Royals Y: New York Yankees And the Verdict is...
Baseball, is a simple title, it feels like a Nintendo title. While, slow, the game is by no means un-playable, when you finally get the hang of throwing the ball to basemen and gaining points over the other team, it can even get quite more'ish. If you absolutely love sports and want to see Nintendo's early take on them, Baseball is a great place to start. |
